My girlfriends MkV Golf has it and I do quite fancy it in the rocco.
Totally agree, it looks far tidier and complete, there are few bits where vw half been half arsed on the Roc namely the side of the seats if you have leather and the blue heating controls. Still love the car and if bits come up and its feasible to fit I will be sure to let you guys know

I was in a couple of Mark 6 Golfs at the weekend. The entry level model had exposed cup holders like the Scirocco, but the SE had them covered with the little sliding door. I'd definitely me interested in fitting the cover to my Scirocco, but it looks like a pretty big job to take the centre console to bits.

In the diagram ref item no:33
Does anyone know what the part no for both sides of these are from the Studie R. They look like the same finish as the insert on the triangular door pulls.
Andy GTi i am looking in your direction. You seem to have all the answers regarding part no,s. Hope you don't think me too cheeky. :) :) :)

haha, i've already looked for them the other day, they dont exist as current parts. They must be special items made for the car.

Will keep checking with all the parts updates though.

Hate to be a damper on all this, but i had a Golf MkV GTi with the cupholder with the cover.. I never used the slide; I never used the bottleopener and the cupholder was a mess to live with. You have to use the bottle opener to make the cupholder work and the damn thing was a nightmare to clean it used to get filthy!

I was delighted (and still am) with the open cupholder on the roc; much simpler and much cleaner and a great place for mobile phones/ wallets!

If I still had the Golf, i would be looking to change that slidy cupholder with the 'roc one!!!

Sorry to spoil the party!

Not at all matey, its good to get another opinion on it I dont allow food or drink in my car so I want the slide cover just as hidden storage, keys change etc yes you can put change in the armrest but its not as easy to get too when driving, I dont have the smokers pack so I put my mobile next to the 12v socket 8)

I wont be fitting it though, as there is to much to unscrew etc

That looks a piece of piss! can't wait to get my car and start ripping it apart! - NOT :hyper:
It was bad enough when I had my golf and wanted to fit an ipod kit to the rear of the stereo. That was a job and a half ,made worse by thinking any minute now I'm going to break my nice new motor
Might give it a go though when the weather warms up and I can take my time and work thru it methodically
Cheers for the info

LOL If you give it a go be certain to post up some pics, yeah maybe summer would be a good time to give it a shot instead of freezing your nads off for hours figuring out why you have 20 screws left over after you put it back together :p
