Computer upgrade

Post by Alphabet »

Hi all,
I'm a complete newbie to this but bear with me....

I've thinking of buying a scirocco 1.4 TSI (160) second hand but it appears to have the "basic" computer.

Is it possible for VW to upgrade this to the "highline" version ?

Never had a VW so I have zero experience in what is possible...

Thanks for your help

yes it is possible although the configurator doesn't explain it as well as it could do or did previously, you should be able to get the highline computer by ordering the multifunction steering wheel (this only functions with the highline computer) although the price looks a bit cheap to me, if someone has got an old price list maybe they can compare..?

Trix, the OP said they are buying secondhand, so I presume they meant is it possible to upgrade afterwards.

ah missed that, cheers geoff

potentially with lots of extra cost i guess (there is a thread about it but can't find it currently) but financially worth the hassle, no.

Yes I seem to recall such a thread a while back. Well worth it if you are ordering from new along with the multi-function steering wheel but as an add on later - too much hassle and expense,
