Why can you not specify a high spec Scirocco without without the dr
ug dealer rear tints?

Re: Drug Dealer Tints
its only a smoke tint, which is far from being the drug dealer grade of "limo" tint.
I like it and have even made it darker to midnight grade.

Re: Drug Dealer Tints
Not for me I'm afraid.
1. I think the change from light to dark tint half way along the car breaks up the smooth lines and spoils the appearance.
2. There have been series of break ins to cars around our way - a high proportion of these cars had dark rear tints. Police suspect that as thieves can't see that there's nothing in the car they break in just to check.
3. As regards reducing solar gain - come on, these are the smallest windows on the car.

Re: Drug Dealer Tints
Do you have a link to the report saying that the majority of cars done had tinted windows please :-) , the crooks must be blind as you can see into OEM tints , also the tint for me is about keeping the sun out if the little ones eyes and it does that perfectly too, it also reduces the glare of other cars headlights at night , I also like the look of the OEM tint, especially on the boot, it work especially well on lighter coloured carsZephyR wrote:Not for me I'm afraid.

Guess the only way is to start with the Basic Scirocco and add all the extras you want.maersk wrote:Why can you not specify a high spec Scirocco without without the drug dealer rear tints?

I'm sure someone with a lower spec Rocco would easily swap them out with you...?maersk wrote:Why can you not specify a high spec Scirocco without without the drug dealer rear tints?

Oh yeah ? We're talking about the rear windows. So how does that work ?stuaz wrote:X2182_blue wrote: it also reduces the glare of other cars headlights at night.

Re: Drug Dealer Tints
Mmm .. my Roc must be more advanced than yours - its has any auto-dipping rear view mirror that does that for me.
Its the rear side windows that are the main point of interest.

I think the rear tints look nice with dark coloured cars, I do agree it seems to spoil the look on lighter cars, but its very subjective. I like them especially as I often have the rear seats down with the golf clubs in the back, not so obvious with the tint.

Re: Drug Dealer Tints
My previous car had one of them also - but with the tints it was made mostly useless and it hardly got triggered.ZephyR wrote:Mmm .. my Roc must be more advanced than yours - its has any auto-dipping rear view mirror that does that for me.

I for one, never "manually" tilted my rear view mirror, never really bothered me

Very True Mr Keith. I often carry expensive computer equipment so it can stop the causal gazingtopicalkeith wrote:I think the rear tints look nice with dark coloured cars, I do agree it seems to spoil the look on lighter cars, but its very subjective. Re: Drug Dealer Tints
As above very very occasional I get cars behind me LMAO, also going round corners and roundabouts etc etc etc etc etcZephyR wrote:Oh yeah ? We're talking about the rear windows. So how does that work ?stuaz wrote:X2182_blue wrote: it also reduces the glare of other cars headlights at night.

Don't get me wrong I would only have OEM tints on my car, I'm not a fan of overly dark tints or coloured /silver ones etc, then again other do, it's all about tastes I guess, I guess if you don't like the OEM tint on the higher spec ones you could but the non tinted glass and swop it out

Ps did you find the report showing all these cars that got broken into that had tinted rears ?
