Change to air conditioning control dials :(

Post by mrbojangles »

So when I did my test drive last month, the layout for the climate controls etc was the raised out dials (as it was in the Scirroco brochure). However, having just looked at the current brochure, it’s changed to recessed controls, which IMO look a lot cheaper! I’m getting the standard 1-zone climate control, but i think even the 2-zone doesn’t look as good as it used to.
Having just checked, it seems this came in from MY2010.5, onwards. Guess I’ll console myself by knowing I’m getting a MY2011 with hill hold and flat tyre indicator, but still.. :grumpy: :grumpy:

Friday moan over :p

I am pretty sure that the online brochure is wrong, or at least I hope it is... as you said, I think from the book they have reverted back 2 years to the old controls...

Well it seems I am an idiot!!!!
Online brochure indeed dated July 2009

I have a printed copy dated Feb 2010 and while that it now out of date (as it has pre MY2011 colours) I'd expect the air conn controls have not reverted back to the 2009 variety!!!

New one is much better IMO. The old one seemed a bit dated with the separate LCD screens - now it all goes through the Head unit display. But that's just my opinion!

What happens if you want to change your head unit? Are there any that could display those graphics? I'll have the standard audio and I may want to alter it...

Numbers are also shown above the dials as the unit is also available in cars without LCD display head units.
