Retro fit optical PDC (parking sensors)
Anyone seen this done on the scirocco ?, i have not seen anyone do this or even a guide, anyone know of one ?, or even done it themselves

Re: Retro fit optical PDC (parking sensors)
this has previously been discussed, to fit parking sensors that will show up on the radio screen - simple answer no I don't believe it can be done, retrofit kits will only offer audible alerts
more complex answer - no one found out if the wiring loom is different for cars without parking sensors so if the wiring is there will require serious stripping of parts & messing around & very likely lots of additional cost, based on people looking into retrofitting other bits & pieces I believe the wiring will not be there.
hope that helps

It can be done, well on the mk6 golf it has been, you just need the wiring , i just wondered if anyone had done it on here, my main issue is how do the sensors fit on a non parking sensor bumper ?trix wrote:this has previously been discussed, to fit parking sensors that will show up on the radio screen - simple answer no I don't believe it can be done, retrofit kits will only offer audible alerts

ok then, has anyone done it - nope not that they have let on.
how to fit parking sensors in a non sensor bumper - a drill & a steady hand (there should be locator marks on the inside to guide you)

Re: Retro fit optical PDC (parking sensors)
from what they look like on the outside they seem to just seal in with an O ring (this also looks to be the case with other sensor brands i've just googled online), x5pea is probably the best to ask here as hes had his rear bumper off several times.

Re: Retro fit optical PDC (parking sensors)
I'VE HAD THIS DONE
As per my Profile ---------->>>>>>>>>
I had the OEM sensors retrofitted by Richter Sport based in Milton Keynes (awesome guys). I get the reversing sensor graphics on my RNS-510, just like the factory-fit kit.
It did, however, cost around £700
After consultation with me, they were able to fit much nicer sensors in the bumper compared to the factory ones. I have the completely flush sensors, which I believe the Golf Mk 6 has.

Do you know how the sensors are fitted to the bumper ?, £700 is eye wateringly expensive though lol

Re: Retro fit optical PDC (parking sensors)
Not really to be honest, I presume the sensors come from Germany with all of the OEM mounting brackets? I didn't require a new bumper, as trix says above the bumpers have guide marks for the drill holes on the inside of the bumper.182_blue wrote:Do you know how the sensors are fitted to the bumper ?, £700 is eye wateringly expensive though lol
