it depends on when your car was built if it was pre week 45/mid nov (MY2009 or MY2010 pre week 45) last year it is very easy to do see linky & costs iirc in the region of £100-150, this did used to be in the accessories price list I believe

if your car was built post week 45 last year (MY2010.5) then it currently costs alot more than the factory option due to the reconfiguration (see here) in which case bite their hand off although the kit has not been released yet.

Thanks Trix !,

Iam currently in the process of negotiating to buy a Scirocco but really want cruise having had it on my last 3 cars, the dealer can source a car roughly to my desired spec and suggested a retro-fit but i now think it unwise to do so as the car would be a new 2011 model so even more complex to get parts for i guess, my choices now are to buy the one offered for delivery in July minus cruise or 12+ weeks for fresh factory order. But thank you for your advice much appreciated and much more knowledgable than the dealer...

here to help mode.

sadly some dealers still aren't aware that cruise isn't available to retrofit for MY2010.5 (post week 45 2009) cars yet due to the lack of kit released from VW so if its something you specifically need I'd recommend double checking that your dealer realises the lack of cruise retrofit kit for the new cars as mentioned, if they are still happy to retrofit with the additional parts & coding etc for the factory fit price get it in writing and bite their hand off, if they are clueless to it all i'd say go for the factory order with it specced & don't risk their lack of knowledge

Yeah, make sure you can get it in writing. Mine's a week 46 MY2010 car and I've been waiting for the cruise control retrofit kit since November!

I was upset I missed the new climatronic by just one week (I'm week 44) but now I need the cruise-control fitted to the car so I'm happy I can have it. Will fit it in a couple of weeks and will ask what's the status for post-week 45 cars.

My car was a week 43 from last year. Can you post how much they quoted to retro-fit the cruise control. It would be really helpful as I'm wavering about whether to get it fitted to mine. Starting to do more motorway driving you see.

Thanks

I've been quoted 120euros, so that's about 100pounds, including labour.

unfortunately not that simple for you Shooter you are in the same boat as Ashley & other post week 45 (MY2010.5) people who require the new kit that has yet to be released

I'm certainly itching to get mine. I do a lot of motorway driving and my heel starts to ache after a while from the position my foots' on the accelerator.
