Just a quick question........... I am going to do a full detail of my car this week. I was just looking through my kit, and the only thing I am missing is some clay lube.
What I do have is some autoglym aqua wax spray, which I don't use as I didn't think it was very good.
What I was wondering is, instead of throwing it away, could I use it as a lube?

looking at the composition of the product from what i've found online i'd say no its definitely not suitable as a clay lube TT
options to use for clay lube if you don't have any;
quick detailer spray
very very watered down car shampoo in a spray bottle (I have seen a 1:16 ratio advised in places) (must be very watered down to avoid marring & compromising of the clay bar)
whenever you do clay a car make sure you leave your car wet after rincing off so that you don't need so much lube

Have to agree with Trix - it would definitely be a no from us regarding the Aqua Wax as a lube.
Your best bet is to go for something like Dodo Juice Born Slippy. You can get a 500ml bottle of ready-to-go lube for £6.49, but for the same price (plus the cost of a spray bottle if you don't already have one) you can get 250ml of concentrate, which if diluted to the correct ratio, makes up 2.5 litres, so is definitely better value for money.

Trix has already given you some sound advice so we're just echoing what's already been said really - just make sure you keep both the clay bar and the panel wet at all times and providing you're not using a really aggressive clay, you shouldn't have to worry about causing any damage.
