VW Customer Service

Post by topicalkeith »

I haven't got my car yet, but I must say I am not impressed by the level of customer service VW give. I have bought from a VW main dealer, I get little information from them and that’s only after I chase them up. I just hope it improves once the car arrives. What’s your experience?

I received excellent customer service from Duton Forshaw VW Preston. They kept me up to date with any news about my order. But when you order a car that has a 20 or more week waiting list, there isn't much to tell once the build week has been established. I picked my Scirocco up in December and so far I haven't needed to contact the dealer for any reason, so as yet I can't comment on their after sales.

all the luck of the draw
my dealer that had my order wasn't too bad but needed a kick a few times until delivery, after delivery it was sadly like pulling teeth when I had issues (re service & maintenance agreement), my local dealer can't fault the aftersales at all really apart from them not quite checking things enough the first time round (rear screen) whereas their sales department well abysmal is sadly an understatement; chasing up my 'booked' test drive confirmation, never actually hearing back from them re test driving the engine I wanted to buy & them never chasing the order they knew I wanted to place! plainly - they didn't want to sell me a car!

Customer service for me was great, kept me informed and when I rang to ask a question they got back to straight away. In the past when I have looked at buying a golf I have had some shockingly bad service from pretty much all VW dealerships in the west mids, Telford being the worst by far. I have tried dealerships further a field but the service seems to be the same, very hit and miss.
I think that as they sell a quality product they dont want to try too hard, as they have repeat business from loyal customers going back donkeys years. I never really got my head around it to be honest and if I was head of VW I would hit the roof.

The dealer where i did a test drive was rubbish. I called 3 or 4 times int he end trying to speak to the right person to arrnage a test drive, and left messages that were not returned.

The dealer where i bought mine from wasnt too bad to start with, although from reading on here and calling VW CS directly i was always more informed that my salesman. Then, come to my paint problem when i collected the car and they have been useless.

I cant fault the main VW UK Customer Services though. They have been excellent everytime i have called.
I can rely on my car, it's my Roc!!!

My Dealer is generally good for warranty work (except the bodyshop - complete cowboys) but pricey for services - I go 8 miles further down the road and get services for 40% less.

My dealings with VW UK have always been shockingly bad - you are just a number to them.

The dealer I bought my car from were excellent (Capitol Motors Merthyr Tydfil). I bought through a broker and travelled down from Sheffield to pick the car up. The car was prepped properly (actually the best prepped new car I've picked up) and I was afforded as much time as I wanted to inspect it. Despite being 1st March and them having masses of cars for delivery I didn't feel rushed at all and my wife was pleased with the very large bouquet of flowers.

My best source of information whilst waiting for delivery was this website and to be honest I was ahead of the game when I rang Merthyr VW and told them that my car had landed at Sheerness but to be fair I didn't expect the dealer to track ships and landing dates as they arrange their schedules in accordance with cars that land at their gates :)

Haven't needed a local dealer yet but I have 2 close by, one of which won a small dealership award last year and one that has varying reports of customer satisfaction - only time will tell.

Main thing is that the car was well worth the 25 week wait :D

My dealer has been pretty good so far. Although we've had several cars from them so they probably like us!

I bought mine from Wayside in Letchworth from a guy called Aaron, THE best sale IN THE WORLD! I can't be nice enough about them. They kept me updated every step of the way but weren't overboard, not pushy, honest, funny and justified me spending 20k with them! If your in the Herts/Beds area, go there and ask for Aaron. Quality service!

My dealer is Corkhills Wigan (would rather drive there than use my Liverpool dealer). They are superb, real laid back attitude, easy to arrange test drives and their customer service is superb!

I have had around 4 cars from them too!

I have found Benfield Silverlink spot on with customer service, one new :hyper: and one used car from them so far. To be fair I have had no issues to judge after sales care or servicing yet. To be continued....
