servicing vw or not

Post by miriam2elsa »

Initial first 3 services at vw dealer £535.
this hurts when you see the schedule.
1st service-inspect discs-pads--oil and filter change. reset service display.

2nd service-is Interval service-as above plus check tyres brake system and battery. reset service display.

3rd service is inspection service just a look. oil and filter change not in this service .Your 3 year warrany has finished.
OR
find garage who will use wv parts .sign service book and at a lot less money.BUT could they reset service diplay.

the fact that i have always done my own servicing does not help.

would you pay up and shut up .I get my chance when warrany runs out.
would appreciate your views on this.

I was lucky to be given 3 yrs free serving so it's not a problem for me until after 30,000/3 yrs. Providing they use genuine VW parts and stamp/sign the service book surely it's a personal choice after the warranty is up.

Miriam: Shop around for your services. I used to have a 170TDI Golf and Benfield Silverlink wanted £200 for the first service. Pulman VW in Sunderland wanted £138 for the same service. An independent garage wanted £115.

Brannen Street - Not far from my old house in Gardner Park. Dont ever buy a house in Gardner Park - they were built by apprentices and monkeys, mine was falling to bits after 8 years!

Did you go to Silverlink? I find Scotswood Road better for a haggle and/or best part ex price. An old uni dropout mate of mine is also a sales manager there (it helps!) Got a £1000 discount and £1000 more than Parkers valuation for my Part ex on my Roc.

I went to Silverlink, I have bought a car for my daughter there and second daughter will do the same soon, got a decent deal to be fair. Aye no chance of going to Gardener Park, I don't need anything bigger than I have now. I will keep an eye out for you on the local roads. :D
