hi newbee just ordered & need help

Post by bmx »

hi everyone, just ordered my gt 170 tdi in candy white with panoramic roof, could do with a couple of questions answering if anyone knows.

i have ordered the car with 18"s but iam thinking i might change the order to 19"s now.... has anyone experienced the ride quallity in both? wondering how much harsher if any the 19's are over the 18's

also the car is so high iam going to have to lower it straight away, i have 3 possibles kw 20mm drop eibach pro kit 30/20 drop and vwr 20mm has anyone got the kw or vwr springs fitted? and why does the eibach set lower more at the front?

Hello, nice username :)

I think it all depends on the driver and how picky they are. Personally, I've just put aftermarket 19s on fitted with skinny 215/35 tyres, the difference between the two is marginal and thats running through a H&R coilover kit which is a a bit stiffer than standard suspension in sport mode.

When the suspension kits have a split lowering rate, it's to give the car slight rake to enhance the looks. If you look at the scirocco, the front arches are taller than the rear, the 10mm split drop evens that up a little bit.

no mate i had a mk5 edition 30 and a TT before that .

had the vwr springs on the edition 30 they were great, iam told they are kw painted blue with a vw racing sticker on them though.

cant get my head rount the eibach, some say 30/30 some 20/30, but a guy on here says it lowered his 20 front and 35 rear ???

cheers wigit, that looks spot on. is that the kw 20mm drop then?

been and measured a gt and an R today, the r is 15mm lower than the gt, but still looks a tad high for me, wlooks like 20mm drop is the one for me!
