Hi all,
Really don't want to advertise but I wondered who had experience good / bad of ordering their Sciroccos from a broker. 1 member has advised me where to look and the price is pretty attractive against VW list with a saving of around £1500!
Anyone else gone down this route? Anyone get prices quoted and successfully get thier dealer to compromise to get the order?
Personally cannot recommend any site as I am just trying to investigate it myself. I guess in the interest of fairness, please omit the site you used from posts and provide via PM to people who might want to know more...
Cheers,
Ordering via a broker

Re: Ordering via a broker
I dont have any personal experience but the key things to check are
that the car is UK sourced.
your not buying a demo (whereby the dealer holds onto the V5 for 6 months).
there costs.
I know a few people have used one broker who simply takes a fee of about £300 and then the rest of the dealign is done through the dealer they havethe arrangment with. The only issue is I think dealers are limited to the numbers of cars they can order each month therefore you may have to wait longer for the car. But dont hold me to that last statement

i had a quote from broadspeed 4 years ago, they had uk sourced cars from a dealer, the dealer was about 300 miles away, in the end walked into my local dealer and they matched it
we did some broadspeed research this time round before we went into dealers, the dealers were not budging on the scirocco (i got free mats, gap insurance and a better px), however, we did get within £30 of the cheapest broker price for a gti pirelli (we need a 5 door car) which was also a factory order and a stonking deal

Hi
Yeah those checks seem to be the things I have come across so far.
Also agree with the issue of allocation, when I called the broker today the delivery on the Scirocco was being quoted as Feb/March.
Gonna go to my dealer tomorrow who I have been dealing with, they still maintain they can get me a factory one how I want it by Dec / Jan as they have not used thier allocation. Will be showing them the quotes from the brokers and perhaps if there is no movement, might try and work out some form of clause that says if they are messing me around with the delivery time and it slips to Feb/March then I will pay the reduced price. If they are correct about the earlier delivery option then that should cause them no issues!
Will be worth pushing, I will certainly give the impression that I am willing to wait it out for the saving and see what gets thrown out for me.
Anyway, back to brokers and not discount tactics.....
