Thinking ahead to '10' plate registrations
I'll be collecting my car from a VW dealer in London sometime in March (but I actually live in Leeds) so I guess my default my reg will be L* 10 ***.
Does anyone know if its possible for a dealer to remotely (or by post) register the car with another DVLA branch? I'm thinking either an office local to me in Leeds, or a Glasgow DVLA office that could do a SC 10 *** type registration number?
Cheers.

Re: Thinking ahead to '10' plate registrations
you would need to purchase a plate from the DVLA in advance to do this I believe smithy. see http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk/ ... &x=72&y=20
fyi: SC is assigned to the Glasgow office (http://www.fleetdata.co.uk/newsystem.html)

If you're thinking of SC10 CCO it seems to have already been sold.

SC10 ROC would be the next best one I think, but I've not checked if it's sold yet or not. '10 plates went on sale on the DVLA website in December...

Re: Thinking ahead to '10' plate registrations
Thanks for your replies and the links. On reflection I'm not that fussy about a SC 10 *** type registration but at a pinch would prefer a Yorkshire reg (YA etc.) over a London one.
Rather than stumping up cash for a specific Y* 10 *** plate, does anyone know if I can ask my London dealer to register the car with a Yorkshire DVLA office and get that office to give up whatever random Yorkshire plate takes their fancy?
Cheers.

Re: Thinking ahead to '10' plate registrations
I very much doubt they would do that smithy, they will just have a pre assigned list from the local office. getting a reg from another dvla office will most likely just be considered far to much hastle imo.

Sorry to say iAmbu but I bought SC10ROCiAmbu wrote:SC10 ROC would be the next best one I think, but I've not checked if it's sold yet or not. '10 plates went on sale on the DVLA website in December...
If you want a Y something-aruther, theres this one YC10 ROC still for sale. http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk/ ... fpsearch=1
Or wait six months to a year and I will probably sell mine, as I bought it on impulse, and will prob get bored with the reg
Say how do you make clicky links on this forum?
