Building and Build Weeks

Hi

I know this may have already been covered about how long it takes to build, I spent a lot of time last night trying to find out. I know there are 8 checkpoints but how long does it take to get from start to finish. Also i've heard one or two people actually having their Rocs built the week before their confirmed build week, think RW1 is one of them? Is there anybody else out there that have had their Rocs built a week early?

Check points are the last bit of the build generally ( last 2 to 3 days). The assembling starts about 7 to 8 days before the car leaves the factory. Mine started Wk43 complete, then Wk42 until the last 4 weeks and then went back to Wk43 again.

You won't know the definite build complete week number until 3 to 4 weeks before it's finished. It's a just in time factory as all car plants are, so a supplier messing up, can put a build off right at th eend. They won't build unless they can complete the Scirocco 100%. Not the done thing to stack up a load of part builds.

Thanks RW1, was just on Scirocco Net and a guy over there was told build week 5 and phoned customer services up today to be told that his Roc was built. Pretty good going, hope mine turns out like that!
