Don't forget to give your wheels a check in these icy and snowy conditions.
The roads here have been clear enough to actually get above 40mph for the first time since wednesday and last night I got up to 45 and felt a big vibration from the front. Below 40 it was ok and it wasn't far for me to get home so I tootled at low speed.
Further investigation in the light this morning has revealed a huge lump of ice stuck to the inside of the left front so it was throwing it all out of balance. A bit of a prod with a kitchen knife and it was off and hopefully all back in balance again.
So it's well with checking before you set off anywhere.

Or live somewhere where there is no snow or ice (like me!) and spank it on the roads like you normally do
(but still taking it easy on corners and roundabouts in case there is any black ice)

Re: Icy wheels
At least you had the sense to go and investigate it. People around here only seem to be concerned with de-icing their windscreens. They don't seem to bother with the rear, side windows or lights the muppets!
