VW - Park Assist

Post by yellowplum »

Has anyone seen Park Assist? I tried it for the first time today, was quite shocking how it worked and parked in the tightest of spots - the wheel just turned all by itself, shame it isn't an option on the ROC.

Thats because it's available in other non-UK markets from Wk45. It's already a selectable option in Germany now.

Retro, I doubt it for the dealers. Depending on which two versions they use will dictate how complex as a DIY. Tail VW badge or between the number plate lights. Rear VW badge version means the central locking is in the way and a little more complex DIY but still do-able. Bumper is an easier DIY retro.

Does the manual show where the camera/lens unit is located?

I have it on the Tiguan. A little odd when you first try it. Pretty good though.

Can't say it'll get a great deal of use.

Yes it shows it between the number plate lights in a rectangle position, I will scan the image tomorrow and upload for reference.

Thanks for scanning your manual.

Here a photo I have subsequently found of the installation.......

Don't think it's the best place given th eamount of grime I clean off this area after only a few miles driving in dirty weather.
