From ordering to getting a build date

Hi everyone,

just a quick question, from ordering a new scirocco ( 2nd Nov ), how long does it normally take to be given a build date?

Thanks in advance.

PS If delivery is Feb / March is it worth waiting for April to get it regestered as i pressume you would get 2010 plate?

I ordered 29 june, but didn't get a confirmed build date until 25th Sep, so 3 months in my case. I believe that production has since been reduced, so it could be longer for you.

No real opinion on the new number plate. I probably wouldn't have been able to wait a month just for a new reg.

they are all different if you want to know, ask! the worst they can say is you've not got one yet.
it can also depend whether you have good quality interaction with your dealer. once you've got one some choose not to worry you with bouncing build weeks & only tell you when its frozen, others tell you will every week

I have asked and they said they havent got one yet! I was just putting feelers out to see if it normally takes a couple of weeks or months....Im in the position of swopping my TDI for a TSI with the promise of if i get it before end of Feb i dont pay the 2.5% tax, was just trying to work out the chances of that actually happening......

all i can suggest then is get your com (comission) number, ring customer services & ask their opinion..
