How does it work???

Post by Drigbyy2k »

Could somebody explain to me how the whole build week getting frozen works???

What I mean is, when does your build week get frozen? For example - i'm build week 50 so will that get froze a set number of weeks before? Or is it just random?

Cheers...

"Frozen" means the car has finally gone firm on an assembly date for when it will be complete.

From recent observations, the VW system is freezing the "frozen" week about four weeks ahead of the proposed date. So Wk50, I'd expect your dealer to be telling you it is frozen for production about Wk46.

Until then, the production week number can get changed by VW at the factory. There a load of factors beyond your influences such as changing your order; such things as shortage of parts = delays, cancellations ahead of yours which would bring yours forward.
