Decisions, Decisions ??

VW Build - 09-Nov-09 + 4 weeks and Niche for 7-10 working days - takes me right up to it !!

Do I :-

1. Take delivery a few days before I go - and enjoy those days

OR

2. Wait till I return on 16-Jan-10 and get it delivered then ??

What would you do ??

Think I will act on your overall concensus.

You're not entirely clear about what you're going to be doing. But if it were me and I was going to use it for a couple of days and then not be able to use it for weeks on end. I'd take delivery in Jan 10 because:-
- Get a 2010 car rather than 09, also get extra couple months warranty, breakdown etc etc
- Don't pay for it until 2010!
- Don't have to worry that car is left on street etc prone to being nicked whilst you're away for so long!

Unless of course you have to pay the extra VAT, which may swing it!

To clear things up - my car is getting delivered by VW to the dealer first week in Dec - then they are delivering it to Niche Conversions who are putting a full Reiger kit on it which will take between 7-10 working days - which takes me right up to 18-Dec.

I take your comments - it would be locked up in my garage so no problems about leaving it on the street. Would prefer to pay for it this year as there is no way round not paying the extra 2.5% VAT next year !! TJ

Definitely take it sooner rather than later in that case!

Well - the decision has been made for me - called VW UK today to enquire about my Build Date to be told it has been moved out from W46 to W51 - start build 14-Dec-08 - so I'll quite happily pick up on my return from Oz - Only consolation is that it will be registered in 2010 !! TJ
