re-upholstering seats

Post by peter.vw »

This might sound silly but has any one considered re-upholstering the seat in their Scirocco.
One thing you don’t get is much choice in is color for leather upholstery (black or tan) and the type of leather.
Was thinking of having the cloth seats in mine done in napa leather like in the TT, having black paint work thought Grey or dark red might look good. been qouted £1000
Any thoughts?

if you want something different peter, go for it!! I certainly love the black & white napa that Gaz has recently put in the Niche Roc.

People have done it and there's a thread on it. I'd send a link, but the search doesn't allow you to search for the words 'leather' or 'seats'... so I can't find it!

I thought about having the seats trimmed when I ordered the car as I didn't want to spec leather as it is a rip off imo for leather that is not as nice as it should be for the price. I could have paid the £1800 or whatever it was VW wanted to someone else and had the nappa leather and trimmed how I wanted it. I had not seen the cloth before mine arrived which is why I considered it. However I really like the cloth so I think I will keep it.

HI trix thanks for that think the upholstery is a bit sad on the Sciroccoc and it lets down the outside looks, Audi give you more choice maybe will will see added opitions as the life of this car progresses.
Just got an email from my dealer to ring him about delivery of my beast.

Hi have seen the cloth seats and i think they are better looking than any of the leather trim on offer, i do wonder if its real leather that VW fit

only the faces are real leather, i've just had a new drivers seat covers given the factory couldn't finish it properly around the head rest supports (to VWs credit is was dealt with swiftly)

i'd really be tempted to go leather/alcantara, love that mix on our golf as it feels more sporting and is wearing better
