I had an email from my VW dealer today to tell me when my build week is. Let me set the scene...
I ordered my car on 30 June 2009 with Broadspeed. They told me the build time estimate would be 10-12 weeks. Happy. This was one of the main reasons I gave them my business.
They then put me in touch with a VW dearler in Scotland who told me the delivery estimate would be about 14 weeks. I was a bit disapponited but decided to go ahead. I then paid them a £1,000 deposit to secure my car.
Two weeks have now past and I get this email (which I had to prompt them for), from the VW dealer in Scotland, informing me that my car is scheduled for build week 43
So that now puts it at 17-18 weeks until the build and then another [I'm guessing here] 4 weeks to inspect, sign-off, transport and deliver, that's 22 weeks total. That's double what I was quoted. Is this average?
I feel I've been hoodwinked by Broadspeed and my assigned VW dealer in Scotland. They promised a short build time in order to secure my order. That is underhand in my book.
I sent then an angry email to bollock them this afternoon. Shortly after, the manager called me to tried to pacify me with stories of how VW are limiting production of the Scirocco to keep it a niche product blah blah blah. I was having none of and he knew it. All they're going to do is call me back in two weeks and tell me if they've been successful in pulling my order forward. I've got more change of seeing the loch ness monster.
Am I right to feel aggrieved?
Please help me out 'cos I'm fit to blow
Cheers Guys
