DSG starts without brake pedal?

Post by Zanic L3 »

It just started without me pressing the brake pedal, wat. In the past three year ive always started it with pressing the brake, now I accidentally started it without pressing the brake and it just started, I tried it again and it did it again?

I thought it won't start without pressing the brake? Is my whole life being a lie? Try it on yours

I would get it checked. I dont have a dsg but a 6 speed manual and i have to depress the clutch for mine to start. However mine has a function that if you turn the key without pressing the clutch the dashboard computer asks you to depress clutch.

You don't need to press the brake pedal on a DSG for the car to start. You only have to press the brake pedal before moving the selector out of "P". The little green "press brake" symbol remains lit in the dash cluster to remind you.

If however, you try to start the car whilst not in "P" then the car won't start without the brake pedal being depressed.

As said above, on the manual the clutch needs to be depressed for the engine to start.

I thinks it will start in "N" as well without brake pedal being depressed
