I haven't posted in a while as I haven't had a Sirocco for a few years but I have decided to get another Sirocco, this will be my third . I can see there is a difference in the MPG for say 2012 cars and the newer 2015 ones, and they have added bluemotion to the description. Was there an engine change at some point, if so can anyone advise what year please?
I might be wrong but I think the 2015 2.0 TSI engine output dropped to 180bhp for the normal models with the 220bhp only being available on GTS and R-Line models, so that may explain some of the economy. I think the Bluemotion Tech adds start/stop and regen braking which again helps with mpg figures.
They still share the EA888 engine therefore there is not any significant differences in the engines.
The Scirocco was facelifted in 2014, therefore that's when there were changes.

Almost right but it depends on when in 2015. Mine is a 2015 with a 220 engine and with the Bluemotion Annoyance. The mpg (with the blasted BM off, always) is definitely improved over my previous 2010 210hp TSi and I assume the 180hp is even better.

I thought you had an R-Line? In which case I said that was 220bhp.
One last question, did the pre 2015 2.0 TSI models come with the golf mk 6 GTI engine, if so are they prone to the timing chain tensioner failure issue? Did the 2015 onwards models have the golf mk 7 GTI engine?
