I fucked up yesterday with the stupid fucking shit OEM jack.
So the jack was to close set to the car and drilled itself a line in there. The sticker on the jack shows that the jack needs to be placed close to nearly touching the car, which in my result did. FUCK. Already ordered a hydraulic jack
I tried to mask it away with a little bit of polisher which doesn't show it until you are really searching for it, any other things that I could try? How much to let a shop fix this up? Any touch-up pens that I could try on a black 2009 Scirocco?
It's not on the paint of the car itself but like on the panel below the door where you are supposed to jack the car up, it doesn't feel like metal or anything it does kinda feel like paper mache/polyester.

Fucking OEM jack
Re: Fucking OEM jack
I had a blowout last. Tried to change the wheel and the same thing happend to me. So annoying. literally so Sh1t lol
Im ordering a mini trolley jack to keep in the boot in case these things happen again. I was concerned about the extra weight at first but as long as I mount it to the boot floor properly, it should be cool

Yeah it's so fucking shit the instructions printed on the jack show that it needs to be as close (nearly touching) the bodywork it's like a deathtrapParadox1 wrote:I had a blowout last. Tried to change the wheel and the same thing happend to me. So annoying. literally so Sh1t lol

Did you try to hide/fix this up? What did you do and how does it look now? Also I'm afraid that it will start to rust but below there it feels like polyester and not metal
Re: Fucking OEM jack
min is underneath so you cant see it from standing.
If it annoys me enough I think i'll get a body shop to sort something.
I think mine needs the Seal where the jack stand re-welding as its sort of bent. Hate working under the car as it it, nevermind with dodgy jacking points.
Definitely worth getting a mini trolley jack for the future though

Anyone knows if this could replace or hide the side skirt.

Also does the sideskirt where the damage is come off as a part or is it the whole panel? (Part i guess?)

Re: Fucking OEM jack
Thats alot of money.
you need to get it sprayed too.
Id try a body shop first to see what they can do
