Cracked Alloy - Sourcing another one - 19" Talladega

Post by AyBee »

Just taken my car in for it's MOT and the garage has failed it on a cracked nearside front alloy - 19" Talledega - and I've been quoted £423+VAT

Where's the best place to source a replacement please? Obviously needs to be in decent condition - anyone got a spare?

For a 2nd hand one, eBay is probably your best bet and for a new one you could try TPS.

Make sure you buy one with the correct offset of ET41 as the 19" Talladega is fitted to the Golf and the offset is different, ET51.

Tried TPS and they couldn't source one unfortunately. Is it worth looking at getting it welded or just bite the bullet and pay for the new one? :(

Really surprised TPS couldn't source one as they are VW UKs logistics arm and supply all the OEM parts to the dealers. Basically, If TPS can't source one then a dealer can't source one unless by chance they have one in stock.

It might be worth getting it welded until you source a replacement and then set it aside as a spare.

Other option is just buy a full set of "replica" Talladegas.

To be honest that was more like the price I was expecting as last time I heard a 19" Lugano was circa £650 plus Vat.
