Hi guys having an issue with my car have searched everywhere but the fixes that ther people have done don’t work for me
Few months back check oil light comes on topped it up it went out last week oil light comes back on checked it oil level was just below max so I gave t a little bought it back upto max got into the car and the light hadn’t reset after some investigation bonnet latch was faulty changed that out now shows bonnet open and resets the light perfect 24 hours later oil lights back on scanned with vcds and showing no faults so ordered a hella oil level sensor new oil and oil filter dropped the oil replaced the sensor and filled it back up again sorted the light 24 hours or so later it’s on again the oil level is on max with the new sensor
So now I scratching my head has anyone had or heard of this issue and can point me in the right direction
Hope this is in the right section
Thanks in advance

Re: Check oil level light help
That's a bugger. You can check if the signal of the bonnet position is received well with vcds.
Other things that you can do is check the wiring maybe it's damaged somewhere. And if the right voltage is sent to the sensor and if the fuse is still ok.
Oil sensors often fail, even new sensor can be faulty. Be sure you have an original one from Hella with VW part number on it.
I installed a new version 1J0 907 660F on mine, previous one was a C version. The check oil warning is away for 1 month now.

Re: Check oil level light help
Thanks for the reply the bonnet should be okay. Ow as it comes up on the mfd as open and it resets the light for day befor t comes back
I did think broken wire but was told I should get a shirt to ground or some sort of a fault code but I will double check that also any idea where he fuse is for that might be an idea to check that didn’t think to look
And the sensor is a hella one isn’t directly from vw but is a hella one you can see where they have ground off he vw logo and part number but geuss that could be faulty too it’s a pain I’m just hoping I can’t pin point the problem

Fuse SC4, don't think this is the problem because you would have a lot more problems.
There are like 8-10 sensors on this fuse.
I would replace the oil sensor for a good one with vw part number.
