I'm looking for some advice/instructions for cleaning or replacing the throttle body in a 2009 2.0 TSI scirocco. My throttle is sticky I'm hopeing cleaning it wil help and failing that I'll replace it.
I've tried removing the rubber intake duct but after that I can't get at the rear two bolts holding it on. Can't work out which bits I have to take out to get to it. Ideally the less the better

Re: Throttle body clean/replace
How can you tell it is sticky? Can you see it sticking when you operate it? Is it throwing up any errors?
If you are feeling it sticks through the pedal then as it's a fly by wire system, you need to look at the operation of the potentiometer and pedal as it's not directly connected to the throttle body.

Re: Throttle body clean/replace
I can feel sometimes the engine does not respond to subtle throttle inputs.Brought it in for a service and the garage said to fix that i need a new throttle body.
Vagcom is giving intermittent throttle body sensor/implausible position errors. The pedal potentiometer does not throw errors but does make sense that it could be at fault too. Is there any way to test it?
I've not been able to take the body off to get a good look inside so thats why I was asking what the best way to get at it is.
