New Buyer (oh no! Not another one!)

Hi all,

Just about to take the 'plunge' and buy my first scirocco, it's my first real purchase to be honest as I graduated recently, so I'm here to make th right decision..

I thought I had found the ideal model to aim for TDI 170, I wanted awesome fuel economy with some power. I only commute a total of 10 miles per day with random 100-150 mile journeys on off weekends so thinking about it maybe a petrol would be better? I personally think I am more interested in more power than economy now so what do I do?

I won't be spending fortunes, around 7-8k so what do you suggest? Are TSI 2.0 quicker/have more HP than a 170TDI?

I was looking at eBay number:302115995708 but yeah, any help appreciated!

If you do less than 12-15k then leave diesel well alone. Not worth the extra cost over a petrol one.

I clogged up the egr valve on my old diesel 1 series in about 4 months after my work moved closer to home and I was only doing short journeys.
