Weighing up the options

Post by mooney88 »

Right so I have had my Scirroco for a week now and loving!

But I have a RNS-510 stereo with an out of date sat nav with no Bluetooth.

Now I called up my local volkswagen dealership and said the latest sat nav will cost 200 quid for the disc!(are they mental!?)

I have found a bluetooth module interface for 100 quid as its a genuine VW bluetooth interface.

Putting calculations togethers thats 300!

Can anyone recommend a stereo equivalent to that price? Or is it worth keeping the facotry fitted and paying for the bluetooth and finidng another way of updating the sat nav>

Buy the latest map updates off the bay for around £15. Here's V13 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-SKODA-SEAT ... SwHoFXqIUi" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , not sure if this is the very latest or not.

Find someone who always buys the latest RNS510 updates (like I used to) and buy the 6 month old previous ones from him for a beer token. Sorry gave all mine away when I went to discover media (with free updates to download from the web!!!).

Plenty of posts about Bluetooth updates but I've not done it so won't comment.

Amazingly I bought that before seeing your post this morning so that's saved me some cash. Looks like I'm going down this road instead of paying for a new stereo. I found a way to make dvds play while you drive aswell. Just need bluetooth and find a way to input dab. Not that I'm asking for much!
