Fuel filter change interval on CAVD 1.4 twincharged.

Post by SKGR »

Hey guys,

I was wondering about the service intervals of the fuel filter. How often do u change it? VW dealer in Hungary told me it never needs to be changed because its the part of the fuel tank (???), no idea what he means...

Thank you for your help!

Cheers,

VW no longer recommend a service interval for petrol fuel filters however for peace of mind I would change it every 40K miles / 4 years. It's located inside the rear wheelarch on the same side as the fuel filler.

No need to be that conservative...i'd say 50k miles minimum, 5 years - that's when i did mine.
Also its not in the rear wheel arch, its by the side of the fuel tank, right hand side (drivers), near the rear wheel, other side of the body sill.

Cheers, I didn't want to say driver's side as he's in Hungary and I wasn't sure what side the steering wheel was on
