Hi everyone,
I've just signed up to a decent lease deal with Blue Chilli on a Scirocco 2.0 TSI GT. I did my research thoroughly first including on this board so thanks for such a great resource.
My problem is this ...at the point of ordering I was advised that the car would take 2-3 weeks for delivery as it was in 'holding storage'. Subsequent to the order I was told it was on the boat and now apparently it's going to arrive at the dealer in 4-5 weeks as its being built this week!! The rep I'm dealing with has held his hands up, apologised and taken full responsibility for what he describes as a mix up between him and the dealer as to the status of the car. I also have it in writing that it'll be at the dealer in the 4-5 weeks.
However, given its being built this week it seems rather ambitious that it would be with the dealer within a matter of weeks and having been told a few different things now I'm understandably sceptical.
I've gone for a GT without any options as I was told I could get my hands on it sooner (having just sold my Cooper S privately I'm needing a car asap) and to be honest it's so well specced I'd only add a a couple of things. I was told the order time would be up to 16 weeks for that!
So, am I right to be sceptical about these new timescales or does it sound about right? Does anyone have a good summary of an order to delivery process?
Thanks v much in advance.

Have you ever visited a car plant, it doesn't take long to build a car these days you know, usually only a matter of days from paint to full assembled car off the production line
4-5 weeks is plenty enough time to build and ship a car IMO
I'd also be interested as to what you think about the Rocco when you get it, as i was undecided between my Rocco and a Cooper S when i was looking, so far i'm more than happy with the Rocco

Re: Advice for newbie on lease deal
4-5 weeks is an accurate estimate from build to dealer. The delay is normally getting the build slot, once fixed it all happens pretty quickly.
For reference, back in 2011 it took my car 4 weeks from start of build to delivery.

Thanks both, reassuring.
And yes, I'll let you know rpsmith79. I loved my Cooper S but from the test drive of the 'Rocco it feels like a different beast.

I had a MK1 Cooper, loved the way it handled, just not quite quick enough, or big enough, in fact that was the final nail in the coffin, going away for a long weekend meant having the back seats down, which i didn't like doing....... hence the Rocco won, i still prefer the way the MINI handled though, much more go-kart like, but the Rocco feels much more grown up, and a hell of a lot quickerCatsla wrote:Thanks both, reassuring.

Re: Advice for newbie on lease deal
I ordered mine end of September got it beginning of December. Stacked with loads of extras and a 184 tdi engine which at the time was in short supply.
Depending which extras you wanted, many are cheaper and easy to retrofit anyway.
