Does any event know of a guide for removing the quarter glass without damaging the seal?
ive scraped the quarter panel and gutted! - will be having a bodyshop repair, had a few quotes, one say window out and another says no need as can lift the rubber, but it's very tight at the top and to me looks like would be far better if the window came out to allow proper coverage to edge with the lacquer coat.
Curious as to how difficult quarter glass is to remove.
It can be a local base coat as its a small area next to wheel arch, with a blend into door, is it better to lacquer to the end of the panel or would it be ok to lose it at a swage line?

Re: Remove quarter glass
Glass can be very difficult, especially if bonded.
However on the Scirocco bodyshops can use a special masking tape that peels the seal back and holds it there for painting which prevents the hard paint line of masking the seal and saves on the labour from removing the glass... it's likely the avenue given to you and favoured.
