Hi folks,
I wonder if anyone can help me with this issue or has experienced it themselves.
Over the course of several weeks and months my USB stick slowly loses the songs I've put on it. I've just checked and after a few months I've gone from the 117 songs that I originally loaded down to 63. I've tried 2 different USB sticks and both have had the same problem. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening and how to stop it?

Re: Slowly losing songs from my USB stick
Utterly bizarre, data doesn't just go missing and the head unit has no way to delete tracks.
Must be something in the way you're copying the files over, or if plugging it into other kit, it's perhaps doing some kind of cleanup.
How do you put files on the usb stick?

Re: Slowly losing songs from my USB stick
I simply plug it in and copy the files into the stick. I tried a second USB as I wondered if it was a corruption problem. For example you select safe remove on a PC, so I wondered whether the car didn't have such a feature and this was causing gradual data loss. It is odd if no one else is having this problem.

You must have a crack in the usb stick and the data is leaking out...have a look on the floor of the car and see if you can find any 1's and 0's
Seriously though that is bizzare, all I can think of is corruption when you are removing the stick from the pc after a copy as its not been unmounted properly.

Sounds as if the headunit doesn't like your taste in music:-)
When you put the USB stick in at first can you read all the tracks?

This crossed my mind too, so I've tried reformatting it numerous times and always click safely remove software before unplugging the stick.blower wrote:You must have a crack in the usb stick and the data is leaking out...have a look on the floor of the car and see if you can find any 1's and 0's

Yes, they are all there to begin with and slowly disappear.Cuprabob wrote:Sounds as if the headunit doesn't like your taste in music:-)

I'm not sure if this is useful, but it always seems to be similar songs left on the stick and the songs I've added most recently that disappear.
