Well i hope it's not just another DRL thread anyway, i'm after something quite specific.....

..... Is it possible to just have the side lights come on as DRL's (and not dipped beam as well)???

The reason i ask is that i have fitted some LED sidelights (which i really like the look/colour of) and to complment them i have also just fitted some Phillips Diamond Vision Dipped Beam bulbs (which are bloody awesome by the way, really nice white light), but i don't particularly want to burn them out too quickly having them on all the time

I have a 59 plate 2.0 TSI, and i can do the indicator mod/tweak to turn off DRL's entirely, but i'd like to just have my sidelights on, and not side and dipped beam....... please tell me it's possible

I dont know for sure. But you could try setting the fog lights as DRLs and then set the foglights to 1%? I use the fog lights as DRLs, its been a good while since i used VCDS for that but i believe i could also adjust the amount of % i want the fog lights to glow when in "DRL-mode" if that makes sence.

If you do that i believe you would only be able to see the sidelights glowing because the fogs are only on 1%. That is the only idea i have for you :)
