Hi Scirocco Legends
I bought my Scirocco in 2012 on an 11 plate. I have lovely 18inch wheels, but the every alloy has begin to peel and peel really badly. I went into my local VW shceister and they said they would not repair them because one wheel was scuffed (a two inch scuff becuase of my bad parking). I know I can get them repaired by a local firm, but I heard VW sent a message to the dealerships stating that this was a problem. Does anyone know anything about this letter to the dealers. I spent a lot money on my dream and I am gutted because my rims look sh1t.
I spent a lot of money on my dream car and am gutted this has happened. I made them aware of the issue when it was still under warranty and it has just got worse.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

To be honest.. A good refurb will set you back around £400 tops.. I've not known dealers to refurb your alloys 4 years later!

Warranty on alloys is usually one 1 year due to the abuse that they have to sustain (heat, molten hot metal etc). You'll have no chance on 5 year old rims which you admit yourself (that some) have been kerbed.
Find a local, reputable alloy repair company and have them re-finished. Around £400 should be the most you'll pay and I know of one company near me that charges half that.
