New GT Scirocco

Post by lukeneale1991 »

Hi

New the the forum!

Just picked up my new 10 plate GT Scirocco 2.0tsi and I'm loving it but seem to have an annoying noise! I've searched the forum and can't seem to find what it is.

When the sterio is off, in any gear ( DSG ) under acceleration I get this strange fussy/cracklings noise from the dash it seems, anything over 60% acceleration seems to make the noise happen and last the whole rev range. When the sterio is on I can't hear a thing!

Is this normal or need looking into further?

Thanks

Luke

The description doesn't sound like it but it's the right age for the infamous wastegate actuator rattle. Plenty about that on here, just search 'wastegate rattle' and see if any of the descriptions stack up with your noise.

p.s. If they do it's a cheap fix.

Hi

I've listened on YouTube to wastegate rattle and they seem a lot louder than mine.. Also mine doesn't do it at idle when revving the car.

It's when accelerating and can only hear it if the stereo is of! Sounds like a crackle / rustling noise! Very strange
