Remap results

Post by AlanH »

Went to Midland VW today to have my twincharged mapped. The chap who did it knew his stuff and he even attempted to change a couple of things in VCDS for me. The channel isn't available for needle sweep on mine so he couldn't do that, but he has given me the digital speedo in MPH [emoji3]

Here's the dynomometer readout. I asked about accuracy and the reply was that it is accurate. What more can I say!!
Before and after are there. I'm impressed I have to be honest.

The drive home was "entertaining" in the rain to say the least.....[emoji13]

Very nice! - although with a measured 223 ft/lb of torque at peak I would say like most dyno results their corrected BHP is a bit higher than reality.
Estimate its about 5-10% inflated. I really wish they would put down wheel horse power. Still its not as far out as some dyno's which are way out.

Regardless though, nice!. Enjoy the power, it will go like a rocket in 2nd & 3rd gear at 3000-5000rpm ;)

Your map will also be safer than my APR, shouldn't get misfires - your pulling a sensible level of torque in the low-mid range with a flatter torque curve.

I've been out and done a few miles. I'll give it a couple of days to let the ecu settle, I may even see a little more out of it [emoji14]

It pulls well right through to 7000rpm with a particularly noticeable kick from around 4000-6000rpm
