Multi media interface and USB?

Post by Springs »

Hi all,

I have the multi media interface built into the armrest. i purchased the adapter for USB as i only received the Ipod one.

I've found that it will only work with a USB to SD card adapter with an SD Card installed. if i plug any other usb drive into this it refuses to work. i've tested 3 different sticks and they are all different brands.

they work find on a computer and in other USB enabled radio's

Is this normal or am i doing something wrong?

It's not normal, you should be able to plug USB stick straight in.

Is it a genuine MDI to USB cable?

Is the USB stick formatted FAT32?

although the cable is not new, from what i gather it's used and came from a VAG car

all the sticks and the SD card have been formatted in FAT32
