Hi people,
I am new to this forum. I have recently bought a viper green 2.0 litre tsi dsg scirocco.
The car is very nice and has a very high spec, its a credit to the last owner as there isn't a mark on the car.
Now I know this is the kind of subject that divides people, but I love the look of the green scirocco R's.
I cant afford to spend near £20k on a car but could possibly do the conversion to my one for a couple of grand.
What is peoples opinion on this? I am bound to get the "cant afford one don't try and make it look like one" sort of answers but what I am interested in is when I come to sell the car on.
Could this de-value the car or make it more desirable?
I will use genuine parts and keep all the original bits to put it back to standard.
I am in two minds as people may think it has been crashed and then I have stuck new bumpers on while repairing it.
Any info would be great!
Thanks
Dan

Do whatever you want you don't need anyone's permission.
If you keep the OEM bumpers stick them back on before sale and sell the R bumpers seperately. R bumpers won't make any effect to the value imo but you'll get a better return that way as R bumpers will sell for more than standard ones. Or you could give any potential buyer the option at different prices.

I say go ahead with the mod
. As long as you take down the r badges, it's not a wannabe r, just an awesome looking Scirocco.
And by the way, the facelift r looks absolutely gorgeous in viper green, especially if lowered.

I converted mine to an R using all OEM parts, Including buying the car, and everything for 400bhp+ setup I have spent APPROX 24-25k. But I prefer it to any R because most of the parts are after market/performance.
I'd say 4-5k to do EVERYTHING R spec, not just bumpers etc.
