Hi guys,
Hoping for some help advice! Recently got front right tyre changed and after about two weeks had to get new egr valave. Since then got a new tyre on front left(exact same as right). However the steering wheel has seemingly been sitting slightly to the left.
I've had euromaster do the alignment and then kwik fit on the hunter machine earlier tonight.
I can't figure out why my wheel isn't sitting straight and it's frustrating me so much.
I was wondering if when the mechanic was changing the egr valve is there anything in there that perhaps he could have knocked against which would change the steering wheel position?
Trying to eliminate factors whether it could be that, or that one tyre is 3 weeks young than the other.
Also hit a kerb on front which resulted in alloy being slighty warped which I had to change to rear of car to stop the steering wheel shaking.
Car driving great and no shaking of steering however wheel sitting slighty to the right which is driving me crazy I can't figure out why.
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Steering wheel sits to right!
First up, you let ATS and then kwik fit loose on your car? A whole car! I don't trust them to put a tyre on the right way round, let alone give them a whole car to bugger about with.
Anyway. they've probably adjusted the alignment and not had the steering wheel centered while doing so. The wheels are pointing in the right direction but the steering wheel isn't straight ahead. They should do it again properly by all accounts, but that would mean giving them a whole car to bugger about with again...

Re: Steering wheel sits to right!
When they did the alignment did they lock the steering wheel in the centre position and adjust both track rods?
If they don't and only adjust one track rod you end up with the steering wheel off centre.
Was it OK after you hit the kerb?

Re: Steering wheel sits to right!
The steering was definitely in the correct position as I had asked to do it myself before they locked the clamp in position.
After hitting the kerb I only noticed vibrating from the steering wheel which I never had before but swapped it to rear and it's been fine since.
I'll try changing the wheel to spare to see it any difference.
Strange thing is I also get torque steer which I never had before and the tyres I put on are exact same as what came off. I know they take time to bed in so can put up with that but the steering sitting to right is really annoying

You could always remove the wheel, centre it, and put it back on. It's pretty straight forward.
