OEM Bluetooth Module Part Numbers - Different Letters?

Post by charliegilmanuk »

Hi,

On Saturday I'm picking up my MY2009 Scirocco 2.0 TSI DSG (with red display) with no bluetooth.

I'm going to fit the bluetooth myself, however, on looking at the modules available on this site: http://www.carsystems.pl/bluetooth,c3.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (seen in another tutorial), there seem to be a number of different modules which have the exact same part number but with a different letter at the end. The pricing also varies slightly between them.

Could anyone shed some light on why this is?

E.g. 7P6035730 K / L / J / N

A2DP streaming is absolutely essential so I want to make sure I get the correct one.

Many thanks,
Charlie

A2DP is available as early as the D version mate as that's what I've just fitted about a week ago.

Ah perfect that's good to know, cheers! Any idea what the letters are for though? All seem to say "newest version"...

Nope lol. I'd just guess that they are newer versions, again not sure why or what the differences are & couldn't manage to tell from the Ross tech list either as it just becomes full of ?? Further down the list
Oh depending on how old a version of your stereo you have will depend on whether you get track titles or just bt audio like I get. Also can't change track via the wheel either on mine

Seems that is the case, newer revisions, all seem to say they work with the red MFD though so may as well just get the latest one

Ah that's a shame, I have the RNS510 fitted so I hope it's able to do both them!

Either way, think I just found another answer here, just to confirm what you said: http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 25&t=14773" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks again!

It might not be as bad with an rns then mate. I think the red mfd cars just have slightly less functionality don't they?

I don't even have my Scirocco yet but I've researched everything about it haha! From what I understand the functionality is identical, it is merely just a new screen but the software behind it is the same (in some cases, with the Fiscon, it somehow has additional functionality).

However with the white MFD comes the rest of the interior changes like the dash and the MFSW (multi functional steering wheel) update, which I believe does offer additional functionality over the original one, as well as looking a lot nicer personally.

I'm sure someone will correct me if any of this is incorrect, like I said my car hasn't even arrived yet :p

Found afew on eBay. Easy to fit? If not had one in before, does it need coding or anything?

Yeah it needs to be coded on vcds but that's not hard to be honest either. Fitting was plug & play for me but some people have had to make minor adjustments to the Mic wiring. Can be a bit of a ball ache running the wires down the a pillar but I wouldn't say I found it hard

There's actually a link in my original post if you look up there, I found it's actually cheaper than buying some of them from eBay and are brand new
