Engine cutting out while driving

Post by BeanKa »

Hi All,

I have a remapped Scirocco 2008 2.0TSI GT, which as the title suggest the engine has cut out on me while driving.

I have recently fitted a Forge Twintake to the car, for the last 5 days.

When the car cuts out I am unable to start it for a couple of moments/minutes.

Do you have any suggestions what may be causing the issue - it seems to me an electrical issue but I guess these cars are mostly electronics nowadays.

I have tried various driving styles to try and replicate the issue but with no set pattern.

Possibly a faulty ignition switch, although that wouldn't necessarily make it difficult to restart.

Fuel pump relay may be somewhere else to look.

Worth doing a scan to see if any faults are logged.

Could also be due to low coolant level or fautly coolant temperature sensor,

Both can cause the computer to alter the fuel mixture which can starve a warm engine (bit like incorrect use of the choke in the olden days!)
