ARE THESE GREMLINS RELATED?

Post by robinalex »

Car just passed 50k and things have started going wrong, just wondered if these three faults are all related to something specific on the electrics?

Started off with the RNS510 freezing and could do nothing with it, could still hear it whirring away even when no key in the ignition, had to disconnect the battery and reconnect then all fine. A few days later I went to my car first thing and found the windows and sunroof open, they were definitely shut the night before and my keys were sat in the cupboard so nobody had been sat on the unlock button or anything. That fault has not happened again since but a couple of days after I was out in the car with the mrs and she could not get out of the passenger door, it was locked and could not be opened from the inside, pressed the unlock button on drivers side and did not do anything, tried the remote and still could not get the door to unlock, had to open from outside and let her out. Was going to try and figure out what was going on the next day but by that time it had sorted itself out and been fine again ever since.

Could it be one specific electrical glitch that has caused all these problems or has someone had similar issues before?

Maybe you have a bad ground cable on your battery, if i hear all these weird problems.
Or a problem with the canbus/comfort module.
But first scan it with vcds for faults.
