So I've bought a scirocco, I was really pleased with it. Full of extras dynaudio, black leather. Good service history
How ever on my drive home I noticed it starts to be hesitant under full load mainly in higher gears. When giving it some in the lower gears or coming down, it wasn't so bad. Say for instance in 5th or 6th I then load on the accelerator is begins to be hesitant and judders a bit. A couple of times the engine management light would flicker and and off.
So my happy experience has now become a bit daunting. I'm planning to take it to a be specialist tomorrow, but does anyone have any thoughts?
I'm thinking coil or something similar, maybe maff?
Any one experienced this?
Maybe I should have been a bit more full on on the test drive and I would have noticed it. I'm not mechanically knowledgable and have been used to driving diesels for such a long time that a petrols characteristics are not something I'm used to when listening to the engine.
I already know I'm going to have to spend some money but just wondered if there's any common occurancies
Any help would be greatly recieved thanks

If you asked the correct questions at the time of sale, you still may be covered by the sales of goods act.
Describing a car as "perfect mechanical condition", even verbally, is fraud if it turns out that car needs expensive work within a reasonable amount of time (So, the seller would of been aware of the issues.). (This includes private sale also.)
You can brush up on your rights with a quick Google, but you needed to have asked the questions in the first place! (I print off a checklist that RAC provide and just state I have to ask these to cover myself.)

Think the car is sorted now. Had 4 new plugs and 4 new could fitted. Been out for a long drive in the heat and it seems so much better, so happier now
