DSG Gearbox dropping into neutral

Post by wnewton01 »

Hi,

Sorry if this has already been covered, but i have a 2011 2.0 tsi Rocco with the DSG gearbox,

When i set off from traffic lights as i start to accelerate the car will move forward but then lose power like its stalled, before spooling the turbo and wheel spinning off even under relatively gentle acceleration. the last few times it did this, i managed to look at the dash and realised it was dropping into neutral as i set off despite still being in drive.

This does not happen all the time, but will happen most days i drive the car.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Sounds like clutch pack failing and slipping back out of first . They can diagnose this at VW by plugging it in. They did this when my clutch pack failed. Unfortunately needed replacing and is not cheap.

Thanks I thought this might be the case... I will have to get VW to diagnose... Cars are a great way of spending all your money for you!

Something they share with women. Hope you get it sorted with minimal expense and remember if the warranty has expired push for goodwill if you have FVWSH. Don't be afraid to call VW Customer Services if dealer doesn't.play ball

I got good will when my dsg clutchpack failed and started slipping at 15k miles - I bombarded their Twitter team so it's worth throwing your toys out the pram as it is not a cheap job
