Replacing the roof lining of my scirocco

Post by Billster78 »

hey guys,

Firstly hi everyone I'm new to this page and think it's awesome the rocco has a great following which is well deserved as they are an awesome drive!

Second thing and why I am posting...

An idiot friend of mine accidentally burned a hole in my roof lining so I have bought a replacement to swap it (non sunroof)

My question is... How do I remove the old lining? What tools are required for the job?
If anyone has a step by step or pic guide to hand will make me a happy bunny :)

Thanks Guys

I've not replaced the headlining, but i have loosened it to get at the roof aerial. My one piece of advice is to be very careful with the new liner, they crease easily if you bend them too much and it takes a lot of effort afterwards to get them looking reasonably smooth again.

Your best bet would be to buy the service manuals from VW, it's not a quick process as it involves removing most of the interior trim. Details on how to get the repair manuals can be found here: http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 43#p159063" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As for tools, it should just need some trim tools (or a flat bladed screwdriver and a steady hand) and some Torx screwdrivers approx T20 IIRC
