it's been a great forum and I have been reading passionately for a while. But I feel that we are lagging a bit behind compared to forums like VWVortex on the technical side.
Obviously, it's also because our cars are new and we're not familiar with them enough just yet. I look forward to much more technical discussions in the near future.
Now, here's my question: does anyone know if the TSI firewall on the scirocco is the same as the MkV GTI? I ask this because I am wondering of the MkV GTI TSI downpipe with a CBFA engine code will fit our cars. I'd like to buy it from a US store and have it shipped to Switzerland.
I am aware Milltek makes these but I just wanted to have more options... thanks guys!
According to a few sources the Audi S3 is the nearest match albeit I think the MK 5 would fit but I havent had that confirmed, Our resident modder Ryan might be able to shed more light as I believe he had a Mk5 Cat back installed at some point
what else would you like to know?
Car is now Sold!!!!! BMW 7 Series for now as nice and big but holding out for something a little special as my toy
now modified with dump valve, boost gauge in custom made vent, "gt" steering wheel badge, carbon fibre badges, rs4 wheels, lowered 35mm, private plate S18OCO, custom de-cat and cat back exhaust with quad tips, air filter behind fog lamp heat wrapped, customised front bumper grills painted gloss black, customised rear bumper smoothed and lower spoiler painted gloss black, mouldings and mirrors sprayed in gloss black, gloss black roof and rear spoiler, colour coded dash trims, door trims, centre console trims and rear seat trims, led fog light bulbs, s3 intercooler, audi a4 "S line" gear knob, newspeed hi-flow throttle body pipe, newspeed hi-flow turbo pipe, uprated dog mount bush, front to back and side to side quickshift, 20mm front spacers
im not 100% but im quite sure the mk5 golf one will be the same, i custom made my de-cat pipe, as i didnt want the sports cat, im guessing the s3 one wouldnt be as good, as they have two sensors in the s3, and only one in the scirocco, but you could allways put a bolt in the hole i suppose
it sounds as though it's not worth risking having to modify a brand new downpipe and just go for a Milltek or alternative made for scirocco.
I just moved to Switzerland so I don't know the shops well around me. So a well fitting downpipe (and exhaust) made for scirocco might be the best bet.
