At first the car was misfiring so I got the coil pack changed, which seemed to make the car run smoother but it still lacked power and was still quite juddery at low rpms. I took it back to the garage and they ran diagnostics which showed P0088 Fuel Rail/System Pressure: Too High. They changed the high pressure fuel pump and the fuel rail pressure sensor, but had no joy. The garage advised I take the car to VW but they have said that since I have had a HPFP fitted by an independent garage, they have probably fitted the pump incorrectly so they won't investigate the problem.
The garage that fitted the new HPFP mentioned that there was a lot of carbon build up on the back of the intake valves, since it's a 4 year old car that has done 43,000 miles, I was quite surprised to hear this.
Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this issue or any idea of how the HPFP could have been fitted wrong? I find it hard to believe that it could be fitted incorrectly.
Thanks in advance
