I've plasti dipped interior bits before and it wouldn't last 5 mins on a wheel.
I'd say at least use 2-3 coats of lacquer on it as well if you do, but you might as well just use paint.

Maybe I just got cheap stuff! Scratched it with my nail taking out the head unit.
That was with lacquer as well

Like you say,the wheel & tyre blur all in to one and you lose all definition of that contrast between wheel and tyre. 20" alloys may as well be 16's because you cant see the profile. Even if you have a contrasting pin stripe on the rim to break up the black a bit - it looks so much better (to me) , but no - 'all black' alloys are a definite turn off for meSidewaysgt4 wrote:Am I the only one who absolutely hates Black wheels on any vehicles regardless of colour? It just turns even the nicest of wheels into a round Black blur with no definition or detail left? Maybe it's just me![]()

You guys crack me up
Maybe I should start crying at this point because my wheels are stripped ready for gloss black powder coating at the moment. Hot sprayed nylon powder coating to give a really smooth finish and then sprayed with acrylic lacquer afterwards.
Seriously a set of 20's with thin enough spokes will show off a big brake conversion really well.
I've gone for gloss black to match the gloss black R trim including mirrors. I would consider silk on with different trim.
