Hi,
I picked up my 2012 scirocco today, I got the dealer to fit reversing sensors, but it doesn't come up on the radio screen or mute the radio like it does in the factory fitted ones, does anybody know if this can be done.
Btw, awesome car, I'm like a kid when I look at it or drive it

Re: Reversing sensors
Hi Brian,
Sorry no-one else has answered before me, and I am no technical expert !
First port of call would be the dealer it this work has been done last month. If he didn't alert you to the effect on the radio mute / screen, I wonder what brand of sensor got fitted? Perhaps a retro-fit doesn't have the same effect because of wiring loom differences from the original factory build?
Alternatively, maybe there is a radio setting which you need to tweak. I know that with my car (sensors fitted at the factory) the normal situation is you change into reverse gear, get a beep on the sensor to acknowledge and the radio screen displays a diagram of the back of the car with colour-coded proximity warning accompanied by increasingly hysterical beeping as you get closer to an obstacle. The music gets muted too.
Occasionally though, the muting does not occur, although you still get the diagram on the screen.
Have a read of the radio manual and see what you can find. There might be a separate setting for reversing in a similar manner to the Traffic Announcement volume control which is independent of the normal volume.
Fingers crossed this gets solved swiftly!

Re: Reversing sensors
I believe the dealer fit version doesn't integrate the same way as the one added at build. I think you're seeing a 'normal' result.
