Auxiliary input issue

Post by Gibbo.. »

Hello everyone,
I have a bit of an issue with my aux input.
Their seems to be something lodged inside the input itself like someone has snapped a 3.5mm jack in there.
I've been searching forums and the Internet for a few days now and can't find a thing on it.
I went to VW yesterday, explained the problem and asked for a price just to change the faceplate of the input and they wanted £365 so I'm definitely not going there.
All I need is the faceplate for the input I think, anyone know where to get one from or had this problem? Easy fix? Hopefully it's just a plug and play job.
Cheers.

Sorry to read this.
If a 3.5mm jack has snapped inside. Then try this. Sounds silly but it surprisingly worked.

My gfs iPhone 5 had same problem the jack broke off inside. Was no way of getting it out. Until we thought of something. Get a normal cotton bud and take the cotton end bit off. There will be a very small hole from the plastic tubing. Put that inside the aux and see if it ligns up with the broken bit. Push and then pull. We done it and it worked. The broken bit came straight out and it then worked perfectly.

Worth a try.

As I said it might not work. Sounds daft but if a Jack has broken inside then it could work. Worked on her iPhone.
So it's worth a try.
